Captions written for the network you post on

One caption rarely works everywhere. Instagram shows a line or two before “more”, while X gives you a couple of sentences. Pinterest is different again: the description is written for search.

Pick a network above and the generator writes for it, from the length people expect to how many hashtags fit. Copy the version you like, then make it sound like you.

What changes from one network to the next

  • Instagram: the first line decides whether anyone taps “more”. Lead with the point, break the text into short lines and use only the few hashtags that match the post.
  • TikTok: the video tells the story. Use the caption for what the video can’t say, like context or a reason to watch to the end.
  • X: one idea per post. Cut every word that isn’t doing work.
  • Facebook: write the way you talk. A short story or a direct question gives people something to answer. Facebook doesn’t publish a post limit, so length is your call.
  • LinkedIn: open with the lesson and keep paragraphs to a line or two. End with one thing the reader can use at work.
  • Pinterest: write the description for search. It doesn’t show in the home feed, so plain words that say what’s in the Pin beat clever lines.

How to get a better caption

  • Give it the angle, not just the topic. “Three mistakes I made pricing my first freelance job” beats “freelancing tips”.
  • Fill in the audience. “First-time home buyers” gets different words than “real estate agents”.
  • Ask for 3 or 5 versions, then keep the best line from each.
  • Read it out loud before you post. If it doesn’t sound like you, change it.

A neighborhood bakery announcing a sourdough class, written the way each network reads it.

Your first loaf won’t be perfect. That’s what Saturday mornings are for. Our sourdough class starts this weekend: feeding a starter, shaping and scoring, in two hours. You leave with dough to bake at home. Spots are limited. Link in bio. #sourdough #breadclass #bakingclass #sourdoughstarter #localbakery

Teaching our first sourdough class this Saturday. Two hours, one starter, and you take your dough home. Who’s in?

LinkedIn353 characters

We almost didn’t run a sourdough class. Teaching pulls a baker off the line on our busiest morning. But customers kept asking how we make our bread, and a class answers that better than any post. So this Saturday we’re opening the kitchen for two hours. If you run a small food business: the question customers keep asking might be your next product.

Questions people ask

Is the caption generator free?

Yes. No account, no card. You get 10 generations a day across our free AI tools, and each one returns up to 5 captions.

Which networks does it write for?

Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, LinkedIn and Pinterest. Each one gets its own instructions for length, tone and hashtags.

Can it write captions in other languages?

Yes. Pick one of 11 languages in the Language menu, from Spanish and Portuguese to Hindi, Arabic and Japanese. English is the default.

Should I post the caption exactly as written?

Use it as a first draft. Add a real detail from your business or a number you know is true, and say it the way you would. That’s the part a generator can’t know.

Can I schedule my captions from here?

Not from this page. PublishBuddy schedules and publishes to all six of these networks from one calendar. On Pro and Business plans, AI Assist writes captions right in the composer.
