The AI Agent is a chat built into PublishBuddy. It looks things up in your own workspace, so the answers are about your posts, not social media in general.
Answers from your own data
Engagement for any period against the one before, follower growth, and what's scheduled, in drafts, failed or waiting for approval. Ask in plain words.
Explains why a post worked
It finds your best and worst posts and shows what made one work or held it back, compared with that account's last 90 days. Then it can write one like it.
Writes and schedules by chat
Ideas, captions and hashtags, a plan for next week, or one post per network from a long text. It saves drafts, then schedules or queues them when you say yes.
Makes images
Images with AI Studio's models. A card shows the model and what it costs before anything is made, and you can switch the model or the shape there.
Reads what you share
Attach up to 4 images or text files, or paste a link to a public page. It reads them, so “turn this blog post into a LinkedIn post” just works.
Finds posts by what's in them
Ask for published posts with a certain color, object or words on the image, or a phrase said in a video.
Remembers how you like things
Your preferred tone, emoji level and call-to-action style carry over to later chats. With a Brand Kit on your accounts, it writes in that voice.
Works on the accounts you pick
Pick accounts at the top of the chat, or let it ask which one you mean. Chats are saved, and you can search, rename or delete them.

Here's what it does on its own, and what waits for you.
- Drafts are as far as it goes alone. It saves drafts without asking, because a draft never goes out on its own.
- A card before anything goes out. Scheduling, queueing, publishing, editing, deleting, unscheduling or retrying a post waits for you to click Confirm. When it schedules, queues or edits, the card shows how the post will look on the network, and Edit first opens it in the composer.
- The price before the image. Before it makes an image, the card shows the model and how many credits it costs. Nothing is charged until you confirm.
- Your team's rules still apply. A team member's agent only reaches the accounts they were given. If their posts need approval on Business, it saves a draft for an admin instead of scheduling it.

Most of what the agent does costs nothing. AI credits pay for its writing tools and the best or worst posts lookup, plus any images it makes. The trial comes with 200 credits.

Limits
What it can't do
Knowing the edges saves you time. The agent won't:
- Post without asking. Nothing goes out until you confirm it.
- Change a post that's already live. It can't edit or delete published posts.
- Reply to comments or messages. Answer comments in the Engage inbox instead.
- Approve posts. Approvals stay with owners and admins in the Posts list.
- Manage your account. It can't connect or remove social accounts, or change settings, billing, your plan or your team.
- Search the web. It reads a page when you paste the link, but it doesn't search the web or look up other people's accounts.
- Work on its own. It acts when you ask. There are no automations or scheduled tasks.
- Leave your workspace. It only sees the workspace you're in, and only the accounts you can see there.
Rather use your own AI?
The agent runs on our MCP server, and your own assistant can use it too. Connect Claude, Cursor or another MCP client with an API key and work with the same tools, on the same plans.

Which plans include the AI Agent?
Pro and Business. Free doesn't include it. The 14-day free trial does, with 200 AI credits to try it, and needs no credit card.
Will it post without asking me?
No. It saves drafts on its own. Scheduling, publishing, editing or deleting a post always waits for you to click Confirm on a card that says what will happen.
Does chatting use credits?
No. Chatting is free, and so are scheduling and most questions about your numbers. Each message counts toward a limit of 60 AI requests an hour. The writing tools and the best or worst posts lookup cost 1 credit each. A new image costs its AI Studio price, shown before it's made.
What if I run out of credits?
Plan credits refill every month, and unused ones don't carry over. On Pro and Business you can also buy a one-time pack: 100 for $5, 500 for $20, and 1,500 for $49. Bought credits never expire and are used after your plan credits.
Does it know my brand voice?
Yes, when every account you picked uses the same Brand Kit. If you picked none, all your accounts need to share one kit. You can also just tell it the tone you want.
Can my team use it?
Yes. The workspace owner decides which team members can use AI credits. Credits belong to the owner, and all of the owner's workspaces share one balance.
How is it different from a general AI chatbot?
A chatbot doesn't know your accounts. The AI Agent reads your own posts and numbers, saves drafts in your workspace, and schedules them to your connected accounts once you confirm.
