A bio for every profile you run
A bio gets a few seconds to tell a stranger who you are and why they should follow. The room you get depends on the network, and so does the tone people expect.
Pick a network above, describe yourself or your brand, and choose a length. Short is one punchy line. Long uses most of the space, with room for a call to action.
Bio limits by network
| Network | Limit | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Instagram bio | 150 characters | Instagram Help Center |
| LinkedIn headline | 220 characters | LinkedIn Talent Blog |
| LinkedIn About section | 2,600 characters | LinkedIn Talent Blog |
| YouTube channel description | 1,000 characters | YouTube developer docs |
| Facebook Page description | 100 charactersThe short "about" text on a Page. | Meta developer docs |

What each network wants from a bio
- Instagram: say who you are and what people get, then give them one thing to do. Links have their own field under the bio, so donât spend characters on a URL.
- TikTok: one line of personality and a reason to follow. TikTok doesnât publish its bio limit, so the generator keeps TikTok bios to 80 characters.
- LinkedIn: two fields. The headline shows next to your name in posts and comments, and the About section holds the longer story. Short and Medium bios fit the headline. Use Long for About.
- YouTube: say what you post and how often, so a new viewer knows what theyâre signing up for. The generator writes a short opener of up to 100 characters. YouTube gives you 1,000 characters, so add your upload days and links below it.
- Facebook: a Page gets a short description of 100 characters. Choose Short so it fits.
Tips that work on any network
- Lead with what people get from following, not your job title.
- Use your own words. A bio full of buzzwords reads like every other bio.
- Give one next step. âNew recipes every Sundayâ beats a list of five things to do.
- Change it when your offer changes. An old bio sends people to the wrong place.

Questions people ask
Is the bio generator free?
Yes. No account, no card. You get 10 generations a day across our free AI tools, and each one returns up to 5 bios.
Will the bio fit the character limit?
On Instagram, yes: every length stays inside 150 characters. Elsewhere, pick the length that matches the field: Short for a Facebook Page, Short or Medium for a LinkedIn headline.
Can I use the same bio everywhere?
You can, but it rarely fits. A LinkedIn headline and a TikTok bio talk to different people in a different mood. Keep the same core line, then change the length and tone for each network.
What should I write in the description box?
What you do and who itâs for, plus one detail that sets you apart, like your city or a result you can back up. Add words people would search for, like âwedding photographer, Austinâ.
Can it write bios in other languages?
Yes. Pick one of 11 languages in the Language menu. English is the default.
